After evaluating many thousands of book proposals, closing more than 2,000 rights deals and helping launch 19 New York Times bestselling books, Wendy Keller’s hard won experience revealed this truth: successful ideas follow a pattern. Whether it’s a business startup, a book, a speech, or a consulting practice, the path from Idea to Profitable Fruition is largely the same. The biggest myths in business and thought leadership are that “great ideas win” and “build a better mousetrap.” In reality, influence is built at the intersection of three forces: reach, credibility, and distinctiveness.
In this practical, high velocity and engaging session, Wendy reveals the hidden filters that publishers, media outlets, and audiences use to decide whose ideas matter and which ones will get promoted.
Audience will learn:
• The three elements of the Authority Triangle that determine whether an idea succeeds
• Why reach (network plus audience) matters more than most people realize
This talk is ideal for conferences, leadership events, associations, and organizations where professionals are trying to amplify their ideas, reputation, and impact.
Especially useful for groups of independent professionals trying to stand out – like coaches, therapists, consultants, attorneys, financial advisors and more.
We live in an era where expertise can become valuable intellectual property; where AI can generate summations that sound great but that lack the foundation of real world expertise; and some people can build multi-million dollar enterprises sharing what they know while others struggle to keep clients flowing. The secret is positioning.
After negotiating thousands of publishing, film, audio and media deals worldwide, Wendy Keller has seen firsthand how ideas move from private expertise to public influence – and why some thrive and some fail.
Here’s how to road test your best ideas to find the ones that will drive you where you want to go next.
In this revealing talk, she explains how knowledge can be transformed into valuable intellectual property; the truthful process and courage it takes to ask the right questions and act on the answers; and what it takes for a brilliant expert to convert what they know into sustainable, profitable opportunity.
Audience will learn:
• The plain truth about what media, publishing insiders, and even the savvy public hear when they listen to your pitch
This session is especially valuable for entrepreneurs, executives, consultants, coaches, podcast hosts, academics, and professionals who want their ideas to reach a broader, better paying audience.
