After a career as a teacher from grades 3 to 12 and an elementary principal in other school boards, Stan retired from the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board as the Safe Schools Resource Teacher responsible for Violence Threat Risk Assessments, school climate surveys, Situation Table Chair in Northumberland and Restorative Practice Coordinator for the Board. Stan also served as a school district behaviour specialist. Stan’s work on absenteeism is driven by his interest in early detection and interventions of trusted caring adults with students at risk of becoming chronically absent.
